1. Agreement
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. If you're using it on behalf of a company, you confirm you're authorised to bind that company.
2. What SunSetup does — and doesn't do
SunSetup is an information and matching service. We produce estimates of potential solar savings and introduce homeowners to independent solar installers.
We are not:
- a solar installer, contractor or engineering firm;
- a lender, broker or financial adviser;
- a tax adviser.
Any installation contract you enter is between you and that installer. We are not a party to it, we do not perform the work, and we are not responsible for its quality, timing, pricing or warranty.
3. Estimates are estimates
Savings figures on this site — including the estimated yearly savings shown after the questionnaire — are illustrative projections derived from the answers you provide and typical regional assumptions. They are not quotes, offers, guarantees or appraisals.
Actual production and savings depend on your roof, shading, equipment, installation quality, weather, your consumption pattern, your utility's rates and net metering rules, and the incentives available to you at the time. Your real numbers will differ. Confirm any figure with a licensed installer and, for tax matters, a qualified tax professional before you rely on it.
4. Eligibility and accurate information
You must be at least 18 and using the site for a property you own or are authorised to act for. You agree that the information you submit is accurate and yours to give, and that any phone number or email address you provide belongs to you.
5. Contact consent
Ticking the consent box authorises SunSetup and its vetted solar partners to contact you at the details you provided by phone, SMS and email, including with automated technology. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase and you may withdraw it at any time — reply STOP to a text, unsubscribe from any email, or email info@sunsetup.com. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
6. What you upload
You keep ownership of documents you upload. You grant us a limited licence to use them for the purpose of preparing your estimate and, where you have consented, sharing them with a matched installer. Don't upload anything unlawful, malicious, or containing someone else's personal information without their permission.
7. Installer partner programme
Applying to the partner programme is not acceptance. Partners must hold and maintain all licences, bonding and insurance required in the territories they serve, must contact matched homeowners only about their solar project, and must honour opt-out requests immediately. Reselling or redistributing homeowner details is prohibited. We may suspend or remove a partner at any time. Specific commercial terms, pricing and lead policies are set out in the separate partner agreement, which prevails over this section where they conflict.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, automated or third-party details;
- scrape, crawl or harvest content or data from the site;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any portal, account or system;
- interfere with the site's operation or security.
9. Portals and demonstration data
The customer portal and partner portal are provided for account holders. Figures shown in them — production, savings, marketplace leads and balances — may include sample data for demonstration and should not be relied on as a statement of account.
10. Intellectual property
The site, its design, text and branding belong to SunSetup or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or create derivative works from it without permission, other than normal browsing.
11. Third-party links and services
The site links to and embeds third-party services, including mapping and font providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices; their own terms and privacy policies apply.
12. Disclaimer
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any estimate will prove accurate.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SunSetup is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or savings, arising out of your use of the site or any dealings with an installer introduced through it. Our total aggregate liability is limited to [USD 100]. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify SunSetup against claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.
15. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and continued use means acceptance. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [state], without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of [county, state] have exclusive jurisdiction.
